Concept Definition - What is your concept? Is it new and novel? Get very specific.
Prior Art - Has it been done before? Search magazines, books, stores, catalogs, and
patents. A very necessary step before you commit time and money.
Proof of Concept - Can you make a prototype easily, cheaply, and make it work?
This is where you reduce your concept to practice.
Funding - Where are you going to get the money, and how much? This is the time to start
looking, even if you don't have all the answers yet.
Intellectual Property - What is your strategy for protecting your concept: patent,
trademark, copyright, trade secret?
Special Studies - Studies such as a business plan, marketing plan, and other research are
necessary to establish a plan of action and determine if you will have
customers, and be profitable.
